Langkawi 3N/4D

Idyllic settlements by paddy fields, tropical forests on mountain slopes, cable car rides above an archipelago and a thriving shopping center define the city of Langkawi in Malaysia. The Jewel of Kedah, Langkawi is one of the major tourist destinations in Malaysia and across South East Asia. Its unique natural beauty ensures its reputation as a tropical getaway. The Kilim GeoPark with its gigantic limestone rocks rising from the water's edge and the thick splendor of the mangroves are some of the major natural attractions of Langkawi. Traveling on Langkawi's well-connected road network is an experience in itself with views of the green forests, the rural countryside and the coastline offering constant companionship along with the fresh sea breeze. The maximum driving distance between two points on the island never exceeds more than 40 minutes. The world-famous Langkawi Cable Car has a steep gradient and offers views of the sea and the islands below. Langkawi’s other natural attractions include the fresh water Lake of the Pregnant Maiden on Dayang Bunting, a beautiful pristine spot just a boat ride away from the main island. Langkawi also has marine life and wildlife parks, and another crowd puller for a family vacation is its duty-free status as a shopping destination.

DAY 2     HALF  DAY LANGKAWI ISLAND TOUR- Exclude entrance fees

Discover the urban and rural areas of the Langkawi islands, a beautiful archipelago off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. This tour takes you to charming rural villages and lush untouched scenery as you learn the unique history and legends behind the sights.

A voyage out from your hotel takes you to this serene collection of 140 islands, only a few of which are inhabited. Visit Makam Mahsuri, where the legendary island beauty said to have cursed Langkawi for 7 generations was laid to rest, and drive through quaint Malay villages and paddy fields with muddy water buffaloes and rubber plantations.

Visit the Atma Alam Art Village and Eagle Square, where a 39-foot-high (12-m) eagle statue stands tall. You can stop for some quick duty-free shopping in Kuah before you set out to admire the serene landscapes of Langkawi. Get a sense of where the islands get their name—the Jewel of Kedah—before you enjoy comfortable and convenient transportation back to your hotel.

After breakfast proceed to admire the countless beautiful landscapes and islands around the main Langkawi Island. Immerse yourself in the splendors of nature and dive in with the signature marine life of Langkawi. As you step onto the speedboat, prepare yourself for Langkawi’s unique scenery: a collection of 104 islands congregated closely around the main island. Legends passed down from generation to generation enthrall you as you navigate the tranquil waters.

Among the popular Islands you visit is Pulau Dayang Bunting (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden). The lake in this island is shaped in the form of a pregnant lady. Rumor has it that the island’s lake, shaped like a pregnant woman, brings fertility to the barren. At this stop, your guide shares the mystical legend behind this rumor.

On your ride from one island to another, don’t forget to appreciate the spectacular sight of sea eagles hunting for fish in the crystal clear water. If you are lucky, see migratory birds flocking in the sky and monkeys eating crabs along the beaches during this relaxing experience.

At Pulau Beras Basah, take a dip in the blue water and work on your tan at the peaceful beaches. Upon finishing your activities, bathing facilities are available for your use before returning to your Langkawi Island hotel.
