The Eiger village of Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland lies embedded in a welcoming and green hollow, surrounded by a commanding mountainscape with the Eiger north face and the Wetterhorn. Courageous ones glide freely through the air on the First Flyer \u2013 suspended on a rope and at a top speed of 84 km\/h. This cliff-walk is actually pretty wild. The railed, walkway winds along the edge of the cliff, as you walk seemingly on a suspended path until you reach the big \u2018cliff walk\u2019. Here you venture out onto a platform, almost walking the plank pirate-style. You can see through the floor and of course enjoy the incredible views all around you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bachalpsee Lake<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Bachalpsee is one of the most stunning alpine lakes in Switzerland, surrounded by wildflowers and adorned with an incredible backdrop of glacial mountains. The beauty of the Bachalpsee Lake is that because there is a cable car to First, it just a one-hour trek from the First station to the lake, despite being located at 2,265m in altitude. The most common way to reach the Bachalpsee Lake is to take the cable car from Grindelwald to First and then to trek for one hour along the easy path to the Bachalpsee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The Rosenlaui Valley, at the foot of the Engelh\u00f6rner, Dossen, Wellhorn and the Wetterhorn, offers everything one might expect of Switzerland: rich pastures, great old maple trees, age-old stables and mountain huts, rough rocks and sparkling glaciers. To crown it all, there is a glacial gorge, the Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge, which has attracted romantics from near and far for more than a century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A narrow hiking trail follows the rushing mountain stream step for step. In some areas, the gorge is so narrow that the highly polished cliffs seem to nearly touch, leaving only a sliver of sky. The water swirls around in the potholes and nature has shown itself adept at sculpture: here one seems to see a famous face, there one thinks one is in a cathedral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge is open daily from the end of May till the end of October: 10 am \u2013 5 pm, June-September 9 am \u2013 6 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
